Raymundo shared with The Bobby Bones Show a new study that came out from The Reading Journal on Mindfulness.
There were two test groups put to the test of washing dishes. One was told to enjoy the experience of washing dishes, and the other to wash dishes as they normally would. For the group who was told to focus on enjoying the experience, they had many benefits: time slowed down, they appreciated the small things in life, and thy had a decrease in nervousness. Meanwhile the other group didn't have any significant change.
The study made Amy admit that she actually enjoys doing the dishes and doing laundry. However, Bobby and Eddie hate it. Amy shared she feels good when it's done and the process of doing dishes doesn't annoy her. Bobby added that he thinks she may be a psycho killer for liking these chores. Amy continued by sharing that it's often a stress reliever for her and if her kids catch her vacuuming a spot that doesn't need it, they know she needs some space to do her thing. Bobby thinks her entire thought process on it is wild because he truly hates chores so much.
Lunchbox thinks this may be the case because Amy is a woman and Bobby is a man, playing into specific gender roles in this particular scenario. Bobby didn't agree, his dislike of doing dishes stems from a job he had back when he was a kid washing dishes. It was so gross to him all the time to see so many dirty plates and gross things that it continued into adulthood.
