Kail Lowry called into The Bobby Bones Show this morning to talk about the situation that happened with Amy's scammer claiming to be Lowry's manager.
As it turns out, the same person "Jeff from India" that attempted to scam Amy with a guest request for Lowry's podcast also tried to scam around 30 other people making similar claims. Lowry was getting tagged in a bunch of things about it. She's unsure the end game these scammers have, but she was the target of a scam hack for the last several years on Facebook. Someone got into her Facebook account and they were monetizing her page. Every time Lowry put a video up, they would get all of the profit from it. They were also posting random content and making money off of those as well. She was in conversation with Meta for years, she finally just got control back of her page in the last year.
Not only is the scam far-fetched, but Lowry doesn't even have a manager. All podcast communications go through her official website, her assistant, or her producer for her podcasts. She noted anyone that's familiar with her podcasts or her would know their names as well, so it's not a secret who they are.
After talking about the scam, Lunchbox couldn't wait to talk to Lowry since he's a super fan of 16 and Pregnant, the show that brought her notoriety. He wanted to know how she has so much time to do so many podcasts. Lowry shared she has a set schedule every week and tries to be done by 2:30p every day so she can pick up her kids from school, that is usually her routine 3 to 4 days a week. He wanted to know if she missed being on television. Lowry misses the environment of TV, but not the narratives. She does still stay in connect with some of the cast from the show, she just signed Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra to her podcast network. Naturally, Lunchbox was curious about the money she's made from reality TV. Lowry shared she lives comfortably in a 5,000 sq. ft home and it's on a farm, with a house they rent out front.
Lowry has 7 children, the oldest is 15-years-old, and the youngest twins are one. All but the twins have middle names that start with L, which was the main theme of their naming decisions. She also shared their first names were all inspired by someone or somewhere. If anyone approaches her in public, she doesn't allow her kids to be in the pictures, unless her kids want to be in them. Lowry admitted her 15-year-old son Issac, the one who appeared on the show with her, doesn't know how to navigate the fame well yet. He doesn't mind when people are kind about it, but it's hard for him when they're rude. The rest of her kids don't really care about the fame. When it comes to social media, Issac has it, but Lowry oversees all of it. She has to give approval on all of his content. Bones asked if Lowry's goal was to have a large family, but ironically Lowry admitted she didn't want kids originally. However, once she had Issac, she didn't want him to be an only child like she was.
Currently, Lowry has three different podcasts: Barely Famous, which is guest based, Karma & Chaos, which is with a best friend that she once had a falling out with, and Coffee Convos, which is a free for all and often dives into pop culture topics.
