Bobby Wants to Hire Genealogist to Find Out More About His Family History

Bobby Bones sent an email to a genealogist because he doesn't know his family or ancestry.

It was father's day weekend and he got suckered into an advertisement. He has always wanted to know more about where he comes from and his family. He would bet that he's European because his skin is basically see-through. The website asked him how much he knows, he knows his mom and biological father's names. He knows the names of his biological father's grandparents, but doesn't know any names of his mom's side of the family. He can't ask his mom about any of her family history because she's no longer alive. He messaged the genealogist to ask how much it will cost to find out where he comes from. He did one of those gene tests a long time ago, and it was basically noted he's from England and Ireland, but that was it.

He noted that even when he goes to the doctor, he doesn't even have family medical history so that's not super helpful for him. He said as soon as the genealogist gives him information about where he's from, he's going to go on a voyage to discover where he came from and learn about his family.

Amy did some research and found that Bones could be paying anywhere from $30 an hour to $200 an hour depending on how much time it takes. And her research suggested he would need to budget for 10-20 hours of work. He admitted he has a half-brother that he hasn't met, and Eddie said he should probably start there. His mom and her sister married his biological dad and his brother, so he jokes that he doesn't have a family tree but rather a trunk and that he has double cousins.
