Bobby Bones and his wife Caitlin are expecting their first child!
Bobby admitted it’s been so hard to keep the secret, joking that it felt like needing to go to the bathroom when you’re right by the door, you just can’t hold it much longer. While Bobby has been learning a lot about pregnancy, he also made it clear he’s not going to be that guy who says “we’re pregnant.” He’s seen everything Caitlin has been going through, including days where morning sickness has been so tough she couldn’t get out of bed. He said, “She’s doing all the work. I just get to be here.”
The couple didn’t have a set plan for when to announce. In fact, Caitlin walked in after Bobby interviewed Clint Black and said, “You can go ahead and post it, I’m ready for it to be said.” The timing couldn’t have been better since fans had been flooding Bobby’s DMs with questions, some even wondering if the couple was splitting up since Caitlin hasn’t appeared on his social media lately.
Bobby admitted he had a few funny caption ideas for the big announcement, including:
- “Both of us were going to hold our shirts up and say one of us has a baby in us.”
- “She let me do this to her.”
- “I think it’s mine.”
But Caitlin made it clear she didn’t want their baby reveal to be a comedy sketch, so they went with something simple and heartfelt instead. After sharing the news, Bobby’s phone blew up with calls and texts, including Amy, who jokingly texted him “Congrats!” only for Bobby to respond with, “WHAT? Caitlin’s pregnant?”
The baby even already has a scholarship! Bobby’s friend Coach Odom at Purdue offered a future spot on the team, boy or girl. Bobby laughed that if the baby gets Caitlin’s athletic genes, “it’s on,” since her whole family is full of athletes. Even though Bobby once thought fatherhood wasn’t in the cards, mainly because he didn’t want to raise a child the way he grew up, he says it feels so good to finally share the news. While some online speculated the couple went through IVF, Bobby clarified that’s not the case and to not make assumptions online. And for fun, he admitted he’s been dropping “little Easter eggs” for weeks.
For now, he isn’t nervous yet, his main focus has just been helping Caitlin feel better through the tough early months. And even though his original idea was to just never announce it at all and let people find out once the baby was here, Caitlin wasn’t on board with hiding for nine months.
The Bones family’s next chapter is just beginning and fans couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with them.
