Amy’s $302 Grocery Bill Turns Into a Wild Mix-Up

Amy went to the grocery store for a simple football snack run grabbing chips, salsa, guacamole, hummus, carrots. Nothing too crazy, just a cart full of game day essentials.

When she got to the register, the cashier told her: “That’ll be $302.” Amy was shocked. There was no way her snacks added up to that much. The cashier, on the other hand, wasn’t fazed at all.

That’s when the speculation started.

  • Lunchbox’s theory: She must have accidentally paid for the person in front of her.
  • Eddie’s theory: Maybe she paid for the person behind her because she forgot to put the divider down.
  • Bobby’s theory: Something must’ve been scanned wrong, either the wrong item or the wrong quantity.

While Amy was standing there trying to make sense of it, the cashier and bagger were whispering and trying to figure it out too. Suddenly, the bagger sprinted off toward the parking lot. Turns out, Lunchbox was right. The man in front of Amy hadn’t actually paid for his groceries, which rang up to $260. Somehow, it all got put on Amy’s total. The bagger caught up to him as he was about to drive off. Luckily, the guy came back in, saying he hadn’t realized he left without paying and wanted to settle the bill.

So in the end, Amy wasn’t stuck with a $302 snack tab, and a near grocery store heist was avoided.
