Eddie's wife got hit in the head with a baseball during practice. On the same day the Bobby Bones Show was talking about injuries that definitely mean you need to see a doctor ASAP, Eddie’s wife had one of her own.
She was at their kids’ baseball practice, sitting in the bleachers talking to another mom, when someone hit a foul ball and it came right for her. It hit her square on the top of her head, hard. Eddie said she felt like she’d been hit with a baseball bat. Even after the hit, she didn’t make a big deal about it. She stayed for the rest of practice, took the kids home, and drove herself. When Eddie got home, the kids all rushed to the door to tell him what happened. His wife insisted she was fine, she just needed to lay down.
But that kind of impact isn’t something you just shake off. When Eddie talked about it on the show, he said they learned from a doctor friend that there’s not much a doctor can actually do for a concussion, but they were told to watch for symptoms of a stroke, just in case of a potential brain bleed.
Thankfully, she’s doing okay, but it was a scary reminder that sometimes injuries sneak up fast, and you can’t just “walk it off.”
