Lunchbox Shares Every Detail From Day 1 of His Price Is Right Adventure

After weeks of talking about it, Lunchbox finally made it to The Price Is Right, and he shared all the behind-the-scenes details from his big day in Hollywood.

Once he arrived, he sat waiting for about an hour in the name tag line, where a staff member with “fantastic handwriting” made his official Price Is Right tag. They told everyone not to put it on until they were instructed to, serious business! Inside, there was a holding room set up like a mock Showcase Showdown where everyone could take pictures. It was loud, packed with excitement, and filled with people wearing custom t-shirts. Lunchbox said if he’d made one, he probably would’ve just blended in. He was upset after someone pre-waved him, meaning someone activated a wave in the crowd before he could.

Then came the big moment, producers sat everyone down in numerical order and took 12 people at a time to talk to. Lunchbox was number 10. He said there was a woman named Marilyn who stood out, she was funny, genuine, and even got emotional during her interview. The show joked that maybe Lunchbox was “in love” with her and they could “couple up” for the Valentine’s Day episode. When it was his turn, Lunchbox shared that he works in morning radio and came alone. They asked if he believed in miracles, and he said that it felt like one just being there after so many years of wanting to go. But the producer “jumped off him” after about five seconds, and Lunchbox admitted he didn’t feel as confident leaving the room as he did going in.

Back in the holding area, he tried to keep his energy up, taking photos with people, chatting with everyone, and soaking it all in. Eventually, it was time to turn in his phone and head into the actual Price Is Right studio. Lunchbox landed a great seat, second row on the far right aisle and even spotted Marilyn sitting on the front row aisle just a few feet away. But despite the excitement, his name never got called. Across the whole taping, nine contestants were chosen, and he wasn’t one of them.

Even so, he said it was an absolute blast and worth every second of anticipation. He joked, “Maybe I’m too much,” and said next time he might try toning it down and maybe leave his phone in his pocket instead of filming everything leading up to the show taping.
