Blood Drawn for Testosterone off Between Eddie & Lunchbox

A paramedic named Chad joined the Bobby Bones Show to oversee the competitive testosterone challenge between Lunchbox and Eddie.

Chad drew blood from both Bobby and Eddie so we can put the testosterone challenge to bed once and for all. Chad confirmed that the process went smoothly, noting that the pair even turned the situation into an immediate competition, this time over who had more hair on their arms. Lunchbox was declared the winner of that particular contest. He explained that situations like this are more common than expected. While people often request a full blood panel, many are primarily interested in their testosterone levels. Chad shared that although it’s typical for individuals to want to know their own levels, it’s less common for two people to come in specifically to compare results against each other.

For this test, Chad performed both a testosterone screening and a complete blood count, which evaluates factors like blood thickness. He also included an estrogen test, explaining that testosterone and estrogen levels are directly proportional, meaning as one increases, the other typically does as well. Chad represents GetWell Health, a company that offers services such as vitamin IVs, blood work, and at-home health visits, in addition to operating physical clinic locations. The company is based in Nashville but also has locations in Austin and Tampa. The results of the testosterone test were expected to come back quickly, with total testosterone levels available the next day. However, free testosterone, the portion that is biologically active, would take a few additional days. Despite this, the show agreed that the competition would be decided based on total testosterone alone.

Eddie admitted to feeling slightly nervous, not necessarily about losing the competition, but about the possibility of uncovering a health issue. He often wakes up in the morning feeling so fatigued that he doubts he will make it through the day, raising concerns about his overall health. Chad outlined several common symptoms associated with low testosterone, including fatigue, sleep issues, and changes in libido. Eddie quickly clarified that libido was not a concern for him. The discussion briefly turned more serious, with references to real-life stories where routine medical testing uncovered major health issues. These examples highlighted how unexpected diagnoses can sometimes come from preventative screenings, reinforcing the potential value of the test they're taking.

The show wanted to know what constitutes a healthy testosterone range. Optimal levels typically fall between 900 and 1100, while their testing scale goes up to 1500. Before wrapping up, the group agreed on how the results would be handled. Lunchbox and Eddie would formally allow Chad to share their testosterone numbers publicly, ensuring the results would be delivered directly and without any possibility of alteration.
