After Lunchbox's appearance on The Price is Right, he thought he was getting an invitation to appear on Deal or No Deal.
Lunchbox explained that after waking up from a nap, he saw a text message on his phone that read, “Would you like to join us on Deal or No Deal?” Excited by the possibility, Lunchbox immediately responded that he "would love to" and asked how many days he would need to be in Los Angeles for filming. He waited for a response before eventually receiving another message revealing the truth behind the text. The sender replied, “Oh, just messing with you. I just have your number from when they used to give it out on the show.”
Lunchbox recalled that years ago, the show used to give out his phone number whenever he lost games on-air, and some listeners apparently still had access to it. While some of the show laughed at the prank, Lunchbox admitted he felt hurt and embarrassed after believing the opportunity was real. He explained that in his “sleepiness stupor,” he was excited because he thought appearing on Deal or No Deal would be a fun experience. Lunchbox added the prank made him feel “vulnerable, taken advantage of, and embarrassed,” adding that the sender “hit me where they knew they could get me.”
When asked how he responded after learning it was fake, Lunchbox said he chose not to reply because he did not want to give the prankster the satisfaction of knowing they got him.
