Amy Needs an Icon Costume—and The Bobby Bones Show Delivers

Amy is headed to an icon-themed costume party, and she brought a very important question to her friends on The Bobby Bones Show: Which icon should she dress up as?

The party's theme is simple: everyone has to come dressed as an icon. The challenge? Picking one.

Amy arrived with a long list of possibilities ranging from Dolly Parton and Taylor Swift to Amelia Earhart and even George Strait. Naturally, Bobby and the rest of the crew had plenty of opinions on which costume would be the coolest, funniest, and most memorable.

The Front-Runners for Amy's Icon Costume

At first, Amy tossed out a few obvious choices like Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, and even George Strait (which immediately raised some eyebrows in the studio).

While Dolly would be relatively easy to pull off, the group wondered if multiple partygoers might show up dressed as the country legend. Amy wanted something that stood out a little more.

That's when Bobby offered what might have been the strongest suggestion of the day:

Amelia Earhart

Bobby was all-in on Amelia Earhart.

Not only would the famous aviator be easy to recognize with an aviator jacket, goggles, and vintage pilot look, but she would also be one of the most original costumes at the party.

According to Bobby, it's the perfect combination of cool, unique, and conversation-starting.

Plus, as he joked, Amy could spend the entire night pretending she just landed her plane.

The Funniest Option? Martha Stewart

If the goal is getting laughs, the show landed on one clear winner.

Martha Stewart.

But not just any Martha Stewart.

Bobby suggested Amy dress as "Prison Martha Stewart" complete with an orange jumpsuit, a mixing bowl, and a whisk.

The visual immediately had everyone cracking up, especially when Amy started brainstorming additional details like passing out brownies or cookies throughout the party.

By the end of the conversation, the crew agreed: Amelia Earhart might be the coolest choice, but Martha Stewart was definitely the funniest.

Other Icon Costume Ideas Amy Considered

The list quickly grew throughout the segment:

  • Sandy from Grease
  • Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz
  • Britney Spears
  • Shania Twain
  • Rosie the Riveter
  • Oprah Winfrey
  • Robin Roberts
  • Flo from Progressive
  • Elle Woods from Legally Blonde

Rosie the Riveter ended up getting a lot of love from the group thanks to the instantly recognizable bandana and "We Can Do It!" pose.

Meanwhile, Dorothy scored points for being simple, classic, and easy to accessorize with ruby slippers and a basket.

Then Things Took a Turn...

As often happens on The Bobby Bones Show, the conversation eventually drifted into less practical territory.

Once Amy mentioned there would be men at the party, the guys immediately started offering costume suggestions based on what they thought might attract attention rather than what fit the theme best.

Suddenly Dorothy became "Sexy Dorothy," Britney Spears got extra consideration, and Julia Roberts' character from Pretty Woman was somehow brought into the discussion.

Amy repeatedly reminded everyone she wasn't trying to meet anyone at the party, but by then the conversation had fully entered what Bobby jokingly called "perv o'clock."

So What Should Amy Be?

After weighing every option, the show's unofficial rankings looked something like this:

Coolest Costume: Amelia Earhart

Funniest Costume: Martha Stewart (prison edition)

Most Classic: Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz

Most Recognizable Pop Culture Choice: Britney Spears

As for what Amy will actually choose, that's still up in the air.

But one thing's for sure: if she shows up dressed as George Strait, she's going to have some explaining to do.

The Bottom Line

What started as a simple request for costume advice turned into one of those classic Bobby Bones Show conversations where a practical question spirals into comedy. Whether Amy ends up as Amelia Earhart, Martha Stewart, Dorothy, or something completely unexpected, listeners got plenty of laughs along the way—and maybe even a little inspiration for their own costume parties.
